🐝Busy Buzzing Bees🐝

Today we had the lovely
bee keeper, Lavinia,
come to school to tell us all about these amazing insects.

We learnt lots of amazing
facts about bees.
Can you see the Queen Bee?
A Queen Bee can lay 100 eggs every hour.

We got to try on some of the
bee keeper protective clothes.

🐝We could hear the honey bees buzzing in the box 🐝

Bees eat nectar and honey.

Bees have hairs on their legs
that the pollen sticks too.

🐝We asked Lavinia lots
of questions about the bees🐝

Here is a Queen Bee, Worker Bee and a Drone Bee

Friday 6 April 2018

🐝We are all very excited about coming to school on Monday.  πŸ
We have some special visitors coming to see us.
Lavinia (a bee keeper) and some of her beautiful bees πŸ

On Friday we got into groups and  looked at lots of pictures of bees, hives, baby bees
and Queen bees 🐝
πŸ πŸWe recorded everything we knew about bees 🐝

With our buddies we talked about what questions we could ask Lavinia on Monday.
Here are some of our questions 🐝

🐝 How many bees are in a hive?
🐝 How do the bees make the honey?
🐝 How do they find the flowers?
🐝 Do bees come in other colours or just yellow and black?
🐝 How many eggs can a Queen bee lay?

πŸ―Some of us then tried some runny honey 🍯

🍯🐝  It was very runny, we had to spin the stick round so the honey didn't drip off πŸ˜ƒ

This week we celebrated
that Jesus is alive!

We loved making our special crosses to remind us that Jesus loves us so much πŸ’›
